Nevada Learning Academy
Nevada Learning Academy at CCSD (NVLA) has set the standard for online learning in the Clark County School District and Nevada. NVLA’s innovative approach creates learning opportunities and options for middle and high school students for both original credit and credit retrieval. We offer students an alternative path to graduation by delivering a rigorous curriculum and educational support in a digital environment. NVLA graduates possess 21st Century skills and are “College and Career Ready”. Our mission is to provide exemplary online learning experiences that inspire and prepare students for success in the global economy.
Projects and highlights:
- NVLA assists students toward reaching their goal of graduation. The Clark County School District Class of 2016 had a combined total of 17,000 credits earned at NVLA helping increase the graduation rate for all students.
- NVLA offers middle school students a hybrid program to blend the best of online and face-to-face learning. Students learn how to be strong online students with the support of classroom instruction. The NVLA middle school promotes STEAM curriculum – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math – by providing course offering in advanced math, English, computer science, world languages, and music.
- NVLA offers Career and Technical Education pathways in Health Science, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Graphic Design, and Accounting to provide students with opportunities to further their career goals while in high school.
- NVLA offers dual credit courses from the College of Southern Nevada and the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. Students can graduate from high school with up to 30 credits earned toward an associates or bachelors degree.
