Indiana Online

A department of Central Indiana Educational Service Center (CIESC), Indiana Online is the largest nonprofit online supplemental course provider in the state, providing over 200 high-quality online courses to thousands of students annually. In partnership with over 300 schools statewide, Indiana Online offers a wide variety of online courses during the school year and summer, serving grades 6-12.

Over 80% of Indiana Online’s courses are developed by Indiana licensed teachers utilizing the expertise of our Instructional Design team. All courses are taught by Indiana licensed teachers, teaching within their content area of expertise. Each course is designed to meet the Indiana State Standards, is approved by the NCAA, and includes interactives with rigorous content. The Advanced Placement courses offered have also been approved by the College Board.

Projects and Highlights:

  • Professional Leadership – Highly trained Indiana Online staff provide presentations and learning opportunities to local, state, and national audiences. Our goal is to help our teachers become more effective online facilitators with course offerings focused on accessibility, assessments, course technology, instructional materials, and learner interaction.
  • Course Access – Indiana Online was selected as one of nine online programs that provide online courses as part of the Indiana Course Access Portal (iCAP), a program offered through the Indiana Department of Education. The iCAP program is designed for districts and schools that need specific online courses for a variety of reasons, focusing on World Language, CTE, and Advanced Placement. This program expands opportunities and course access for students statewide.
  • Consulting– Indiana Online offers consulting services to districts and schools to provide support in launching a new virtual program or improving an existing program. We bring a wealth of experience in addition to knowledge from our network of national affiliates.
  • Dual Credit – Indiana Online currently has a partnership with Ivy Tech and Trine University to expand opportunities for students in the state.
  • FlexED – Indiana Online has two models of FlexED: FlexED-T and FlexED-C. If a District/School elects the FlexED-T program, Indiana Online provides curriculum hosted on Indiana Online’s learning management system in addition to a highly qualified, certified teacher. Indiana Online also keeps in close contact with the school’s appointed liaison to provide additional support. FlexED-C allows schools to lease Indiana Online’s content using their own teacher to facilitate the course with the assistance of our Student Services team.
  • Full-time Academy – The Academy program was developed to help Indiana districts and schools provide a high-quality, full-time virtual option for students in grades 6-12. Employing full-time and part-time teachers to deliver instruction to students in both synchronous and asynchronous formats, the Academy provides a unique, flexible, and personalized approach to student learning. The Academy allows districts and schools to enroll students who wish to receive their education in a virtual setting while remaining a part of the school community.
  • Wraparound Services – The Indiana Online Student Services team offers a variety of wraparound services to partner schools, including assisting districts and schools with getting students registered for courses, monitoring success, providing accommodation support for students in need of additional support, as well as utilizing an intervention and communication protocol for students who are struggling. Our onboarding support helps staff, students, and parents prepare for a successful experience.
